Adrian's Artistic Journey

Adrian Lloyd’s exceptional artistic journey is an interesting and inspiring story of a rediscovered passion and natural talent.
Adrian's view on Art is different to many others because he has diplopia - double vision - following a nasty motorcycle accident in 2000. The diplopia is managed with a black-out contact lens on his left eye which then gives Adrian Monocular vision - vision from a single eye.
Adrian enjoyed Art and Art History at school in the 80's and 90's but a complicated home life and a reluctance to follow rules meant he dropped out of education before getting any meaningful qualifications.
About the year 2020, Adrian took some time out from his day job building software for computers to care for his brother following a disabling accident. In order to look after his own mental health, Adrian booked himself on some local life drawing classes.
The charcoal studies he brought home from the classes were rather good and a distant memory of his passion for art was brought right to the forefront.
Alongside charcoal and pencil drawings, Adrian rediscovered painting in Gouache and acrylics. Before long he invested in some oil paints and began teaching himself traditional painting techniques. His young family all enjoy expressing themselves in many art forms.
All of a sudden his innate talent and love of paintings of all kinds is exposed to the world.
